Native American Heritage Day
Most Native Americans did not write down their history- it was passed down through spoken stories. This is a great chance to experience the stories presented by tribe members themselves, and to see the tools used by the Native Americans who lived here before the colonists arrived. Crafts, artifacts and performances by Red Crooked Sky.
• “Red Crooked Sky” will perform at 10:30, 1:00, and 3:30 during the day. They are an American Indian dance troupe that promotes positive cultural awareness through traditional and contemporary dance. Members are multi-generational and represent several tribes from the area. They will host question and answer sessions after the perf0rmances.
• Linda Overheim will showcase artifacts and replicas from the Tidewater area and share stories at 11:30, 1:30, and 2:30.
